Meet Keli-Jo – Youth Worker

29 September 2022

We are delighted to welcome youth worker Keli-Jo to our team. Keli-Jo is primarily working with the Waterside team, where her involvement will be wide-ranging: from schools work to detached work and projects.

Keli-Jo is no stranger to the area, having grown up in Newbury, where she attend The Downs School and then Newbury College. She then progressed to working at Newbury College, as well as with autistic adults.

Keli-Jo told us: “I think I will bring positivity and enthusiasm to this role; I know how much I struggled in school, so I really want to make a positive difference for young people.

“I have always wanted to venture into this kind of industry but never really found a way in until I saw the Berkshire Youth vacancy. I love what Berkshire Youth stands for and I’m really excited for the journey to begin! I don’t have much experience working with young people, but I know that they need an outlet just as much as us as adults do and it’s important for them to understand their mental health too and find healthy coping mechanisms.

“I hope to provide a safe space for young people to feel comfortable in talking to me and have lots of fun whilst doing so!

“Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to join your team, everyone is lovely and I would like to say a big thank you to Kelly and Jessica for making me feel really comfortable already! I’m super excited about this next step for me, and really can’t wait to get stuck in.”

We are so thrilled to have you on board, Keli-Jo! You are such an excellent addition to our team!
